A word from Cynthia

Kia ora koutou,

It is the close of another year where we have navigated uncertainty, COVID, and a country and community that is experiencing first hand the challenge of a struggling economy.

Yet, here at True Colours, we are continuing to provide care and support to families who are living with a child who has a health condition.  Or providing grief support to families who have experienced the loss of their baby, child, or young person.

The families we walk alongside who are grieving, or busy caring for a child who is seriously unwell, have also had to navigate the challenges of what 2022 has brought.  However, their focus is to strongly advocate and care for their children and whānau despite the tough times.

Resiliency is a word used a lot at True Colours, as the team witness every day, the strength and courage of individuals within a family and as a whānau.

We could not do this significant mahi if it were not for our funders, sponsors and those businesses and individuals who have continued to support us through another tough year due to the impact of COVID.  The amazing result of $150K from our major fundraiser, the Kerr Ladbrook & True Colours Long Lunch, is a testament of the generosity of our community.

Thank you to each of you who have captured the vision with us to continue to deliver services that families tell us are important to them.  We so appreciate you all!

Wishing you all a holiday season that embraces fun times with friends and whānau and rest and recovery before the start of 2023.

Ngā mihi o te Kirihimete me te Tau Hou
