How True Colours Helps
We support children with a serious health condition and their families.
The dedicated and compassionate staff at True Colours ensure the right mix of care is provided to support your child and family through the difficulties and grief of a chronic, life-limiting or life-threatening illness.
Our unique integrated model of care ensures the entire family will be helped throughout your time of need. This holistic approach is provided as part of our free service to families in the greater Waikato region.
Our Criteria
You can refer or self-refer to True Colours when:
- There is a child with a serious health condition, impacting them, their parents and siblings.
- When parents receive a medical diagnosis that impacts the health or life of their baby during pregnancy.
- Bereavement support is needed for parents who experience the death of their baby in utero later in the pregnancy or after birth due to a medical condition.
Please contact us to discuss if you are unsure you meet our criteria.
What we do
When your child is affected by a chronic, life-limiting or life-threatening illness, they face challenges
different from anything experienced by their peers. Their siblings and families are deeply affected too.

Help a Waikato Family
A child’s serious or life-threatening illness affects the whole family. That’s why children and their whānau are at the centre of everything we do. In the past 15 years, we have been able to help over 2000 families throughout the greater Waikato region, thanks to outstanding community support through sponsorship, donations, trust grants and fundraising events.
Your generosity sustains this free service and helps children and families when they are coping with great uncertainty and stress.
